福岡市の郊外に位置する金武地区は、田畑や周囲の森を舞台に、農業や林業の営みにより自然と共生する「里」の姿があります。かなたけの里公園の開設から10年、自然環境の保全や持続可能な農林業のあり方を模索し、地域の課題解決に向けて取り組んできました。その中で見えてきたのは「里山と都市の新しい関係」の必要性。「CYCLE CYCLE PROJECT」では、都心に近く、豊かな環境が残る場所だからこそ、その魅力や価値に触れ合い、気軽に環境にやさしい行動ができる場所をつくりたいと考えています。また、その考え方や感覚に共感する方々とゆるやかにつながっていくことで、「里山のアップサイクル」へアプローチしていきます。

Kanatake-no-Sato Park is located in the suburbs of Fukuoka City. This area, called sato in Japanese, coexists with nature through agricultural and forestry activities in the fields and surrounding forests. During the past decade of our efforts to protect the environment, seek sustainable agricultural practices, and solve local problems, the need for a new collaboration between the park and the city has become apparent. The CYCLE CYCLE PROJECT creates a place where people can appreciate the attraction and value of this area with its rich nature and engage in eco-friendly activities. We will also reach out to people who resonate with the Satoyama Upcycling concept.

manuastandは、広大な自然の中で、人や地域のつながりを大切にしながら、コーヒーとともに「里山のアップサイクル」にアプローチするカフェ＆アンテナショップです。カフェを共同運営するmanucoffeeでは、コーヒーかすのアップサイクル肥料「マヌア」を金澤バイオ研究所とともに開発。2020年から「マヌア」を使った農作地・マヌの里の運用を開始しました。実際に草刈りから耕耘、苗植え、収穫、加工までを自ら実践し、循環型の農作物づくりに取り組んでいます。コーヒーかすを活用することから生まれた出会いの輪は少しづつ大きくなり、「マヌア」をきっかけにいろんなプロジェクトやプロダクトが生まれています。

“manuastand” is the name of our café & antenna shop. We focus on Satoyama upcycling using coffee and value connections between people and communities. The café's cooperation partner, manucoffee developed Manua, an upcycled fertilizer made from coffee grounds, in collaboration with the Kanazawa Bio Research Institute. The operation of Manu-no-Sato, an agricultural field containing Manua, started in 2020. In fact, we practice everything from plowing to harvesting and processing. The circle of coffee ground encounters has grown, leading to various projects and products made from Manua.

福岡市西区の南部に位置し、脊振山系から連なる山並みや田園地域を背景に自然の恵みを感じられるロケーションの金武地区。この「里山」の魅力を味わっていただくとともに、環境への思いを巡らせ、資源循環の可能性を学び、普段の暮らしにもとりこめる体験ができる場として活動しています。CO_YARDKANATAKEでは、キャンプ体験のほか、農作物の収穫やクラフト体験など、自然を見て・触れて・体験し、心も体もアップサイクルできるコンテンツをお届けします。

Kanatake Area, situated in the southern part of Nishi-ku Fukuoka City, offers an experience of the blessings of nature surrounded by the Sefuri Mountain Range. At CO_YARD KANATAKE, we are working to create a space where you can take in the allure of Satoyama, consider environmental issues, discover the potential of recycling, and gain experiences for your everyday life. Aside from camping, we also provide a variety of activities to revitalize your body and mind, such as harvesting and crafting, where you can expose yourself to nature.

「アップサイクル」の実現は、ひとりひとりが取り組みから始まります。将来の里山のあり方を模索する私たちの取り組みやその意義を、改めて深く掘り下げ伝えていきます。私たちの試行錯誤が、誰かの次のバトンにつながることを願って。

The first step toward making "upcycling" a reality is for everybody to take action. To understand the future of Satoyama and what it means for us, we’ll delve deeper into our efforts. We also hope to pass on what we've learned through our trial and error to the next generation.
